ABOUT MGE DESIGN
Company History | Established in late
2003, MGE Design was conceived with a passion: the passion
for unique, inimitable bags that possess an undeniable
“it” factor! MGE Design highlights exclusive
and fashionable handbags in its Private Collection,
which features the work of a collective of independent
handbag designers from the Philippines. MGE Design seeks
to provide these talented designers with an avenue to
market their select ladies’ handbags in the US
and is currently marketing its elite collection of limited-run
handbags through fine Bay Area boutiques, trunk shows,
as well as through its online presence at www.MGEdesign.com.
In 2004, MGE Design expanded on its mission
of providing unique and fashionable bags that meet the
diversified needs of the modern woman. For the woman
who likes to keep her lovable pooch by her side, MGE
Design offers the PuchiBag line, as featured in Legally
Blonde! For the young, hip parent seeking ingenious
organization and storage of baby care accessories, MGE
Design features the highly acclaimed Fleurville bags.
Designer Bio | Maiko
Gardiner-Elko was born and raised in the Philippines.
Although she now resides in San Francisco, she often
travels back to her homeland, and works with high-end
Filipino designers who share their creative visions
through handbag design. Maiko graduated from the University
of California, Davis where she obtained a dual degree
in Consumer Economics and Japanese, and studied courses
in Graphic Design. Her passion for aesthetics has led
her to a career in Interior Design and Special Event
Design, but it was her desire to support individual
artistry that led her to establish MGE Design Collection.
